Positive Support Network seeks support |
![]() |
Paul Calcott and Rob Miles spent World AIDS Day, December 1, at Deepwater Plaza Woy Woy raising money and recruiting volunteers for the Positive Support Network (PSN).
PSN is a community organisation that provides physical and emotional care to people living with HIV/AIDS and hepatitis C.
About one-third of the network's clients live in the Peninsula area.
The network assists people to live normal lives, helping them with day-to-day activities, listening, providing access to different therapies and helping them return to the workforce.
"We are not nurses or counsellors but are just trained to help people maintain their independence," said Paul, a volunteer with the network.
He said that the support network had a good response this year from fundraising efforts at Woy Woy, but not as good as previous years.
The service is currently looking for volunteers who are willing to undergo training and provide time to care as well as do some fundraising to support PSN.
It takes four Saturdays to complete training.
To make a donation or for more information, phone the network on 4323 2905 or write to PO Box 878, Gosford 2250.
