Payphone request succeeds

 

Member for Robertson Mr Jim Lloyd has congratulated Telstra on its decision to re-install the payphone facilities outside the Peninsula Community Centre in Woy Woy.

"Following the rebuilding of the Peninsula Community Centre earlier this year, the existing payphone was removed and had not been replaced," Mr Lloyd said.

"After being contacted by the management of the Peninsula Community Centre on November 13, I made representation to Telstra in an effort to have the payphone facilities replaced.

"Telstra have responded quickly to my request and have advised me that the payphone installation will be made on February 20.

"The Community Centre has many diverse user groups utilising the Centre at all times of the day and often into the evening," Mr Lloyd said.

"It has been a great inconvenience to many of these people, of all age groups, that no public phone facilities have been available in the area and I am pleased that my representations to Telstra have been successful."
