Support classes visit Darling Harbour

The support classes of Ettalong Public School travelled with their teachers to Sydney recently for the Variety Club's Christmas Party.

The party was held at the Darling Harbour Exhibition Centre, providing a safe and secure environment for the students who travelled down on the Brisbane Water Secondary College bus driven by Peter Moyes.

Karen Donaldson, Lisa Connelly, Ann Murray and Carol Brock supervised the children, helping them around the centre and ensuring the children got to visit the stage shows and drama performances as well as obtain autographs of their favourite performers.

The children were each given lunch, drinks, ice cream and lollies as well as a bag of goodies to take home with them.

They got to see Santa, who gave each child a toy, had carnival rides and could participate in the obstacle course.

They had their faces painted and visited the animal farm where they could pet and feed baby animals.

The Ashton's Magic School Bus gave out books and were just one of the many generous sponsors of the Variety Children's Christmas Party.

Class teacher Karen Donaldson said the 13 children were very excited and had a wonderful time.

She thanked the Variety Club and its sponsors for providing the children with such wonderful opportunities they may not otherwise experience.

Mrs Donaldson said the children were well behaved and absolutely exhausted for the trip home after such a fabulous day.
