Hose from the washing machine

 

Why do we need a kit marketed by the council to save our bath water to use on our gardens?

In the days of the septic tank it was common practice to run a hose from one's washing machine out the laundry window to use all the washing water on the back grass.

It worked very well and as we are on sand there was never any water lying around.

Perhaps we should all consider this option to save water and to reduce the load on the sewerage system.
