Plaque unveiled at hospital
Member for Robertson Mr Jim Lloyd has congratulated Brisbane Waters Private Hospital on its continued support of the Central Coast Veteran Community.
Speaking at the unveiling of the latest commemorative plaque for the Malaya-Borneo Veteran Association in the Veteran Memorial Courtyard, Mr Lloyd said that he was gratified to know that the Brisbane Waters Private Hospital continued to provide the best care for our veteran community.
National vice-president Mr Bryce Matthews, Mr Jim Smith and Member for Robertson Mr Jim Lloyd conducted the unveiling.
Mr Lloyd also spoke briefly about his attendance at the Gallipoli ANZAC Day Service.
"This was certainly one of the most moving events in my life and it was a great honour to represent the Central Coast Veteran Community at such a significant event.
"To be amongst the 10,000 Australians during the ANZAC Cove dawn service and the Lone Pine Service was a very emotional experience.
"Despite some media comments about unruly behaviour, I can say that the crowd of mainly young Australians was very well behaved and very respectful of the sacrifices made by our veterans and their families.
"This small ceremony on the Central Coast today is a further recognition and serves as a permanent reminder of the service and sacrifice of our Malaya-Borneo veterans and their families," Mr Lloyd said.
