What kind of New Age do we want?
Given the current state of the world we should ask ourselves: what kind of New Age do we desire?
It is inevitable that things are changing rapidly, and the old age of the 20th century is long gone.
Old solutions will no longer be appropriate to the challenges of the 21st century.
Here in our own microcosm of Woy Woy, we will be faced with issues that mirror the world situation.
Which way will we react?
And what will we allow to divide us?
Will we stay together as a community and seek peaceful solutions to the conflict that change can bring?
With the Oysters Birthday Celebrations, we have the opportunity to co-operate and celebrate as a community.
While with the cycleway on the foreshore, we have been challenged to accept change and seek compromise from both extreme views.
Sometimes we can only win if we are able to budge from our point of view and meet the opposition halfway.
Terrorism is the result of one party feeling that their view is not being catered for, and being prepared to act in an extreme way to be heard.
The hostage crisis in Russia recently was a tragic example of the frustration felt by one party, and the length to which they were prepared to go to get heard.
If we can keep communications open and show that we are prepared to compromise then these tragic events can be avoided.
As we progress further into the Age of Aquarius, we should look for solutions that are original and even abstract.
The emotional and often selfish responses of the Piscean Age will no longer be appropriate. Instead, rational thinking will provide solutions where everyone's needs can be met.
The illusion of separation will be realised, and we will come to accept that we are all one family, one community, one country and one planet.
