Credit card fraud seminar planned

 

A free seminar for small business people about credit card fraud will be held at Koolewong on Wednesday, November 13.

The seminar is intended to ensure businesses are safe in the approaching Christmas season.

The seminar will be held at The Boathouse restaurant on Brisbane Water Dr, from 7.30am to 9.30am, and a light breakfast will be served.

Topics to be discussed will include the latest fraud scams, types of credit card fraud, card security features, counterfeit credit cards, best practice card acceptance, fraud avoidance and card acceptance over the internet.

During the seminar, several case studies will be examined to highlight the importance of implementing simple precautionary measures along with a common sense approach.

The Small Business Assistance Office and Risk Australia are organising the seminar.
