Frank Sinatra's story is told
From Here to Eternity - The Frank Sinatra Story will be presented at the Peninsula Theatre from November 27 to December 7.
The production has been devised, written by and stars Shane Emmett.
Shane has performed Sinatra at the Cabaret Convention in Sydney and as a regular artist on Good Morning Australia with Bert Newton.
Shane said he hoped to bring to life the story of one of the most popular entertainers of the 20th Century.
"The show is a two hour extravaganza led by his songs and punctuated with story and dance," he said
"Frank Sinatra's life is one of the most publicised and controversial lives of the 20th Century.
"Apart from his unsurpassed musical achievements and acting accolades, the man was intimate with presidents and princes.
"With speculation about mafia involvement, marriage breakdowns, love affairs and career fluctuations, Sinatra did it his way."
Shane said that when Sinatra sang "That's Life" he sang about his own life: "I've been a puppet, a pirate, a poet, a pauper, a pawn, and a king. I've been up and down and over and out but I know one thing. Each time I find myself lying flat on my face, I pick myself up and get back in the race."
Proceeds from ticket sales on Friday, November 29, will go to CanTeen, The Australian Organisation for Young People Living with Cancer.
Tickets are available from Cazza's Bookstore Woy Woy, Voyager Music Gosford, Ettalong and The Entrance and from the Laycock St Theatre.
