Peninsula Probus established
A meeting to establish a Umina Peninsula Probus Club was organised by Umina Beach Rotary Club at the Everglades Country Club on October 31.
With an attendance of 43 people, 37 signed up as inaugural members.
A steering committee was formed and a date was set for the committee to meet to plan the future of the club.
The committee is president Vema Emery, vice -president Kevin Williams, secretary Val Pope, treasurer Bob Boys and two committee members John Trevor Jones and Marion Post.
The first club meeting will be held at the Everglades Country Club on Thursday, November 28, at 10am and on every fourth Thursday of the month except December.
The first meeting was designed to allow people to get to know each other, learn what their interests were, what they hoped to do as members and what a club could do for them.
Umina Peninsula Probus will be a mixed club, but no decision has been made about membership numbers.
