Association claims credit

Bensville Residents Association has claimed credit for negotiating with Bensville developer Crighton Properties to gain an extra 0.6 hectares of recreation land.

The land is adjacent to two lots that was already designed as recreation land by Gosford Council, bringing the total recreation land to about 1.4 hectares.

Negotiations took place at several meetings at Gosford Council early this year, "ensuring that environmental issues were covered and negotiations continued between Crightons, the association and the council", according to association spokesman Mr Alan Richardson.

He said the result was "a fine example of a developer and a community group working together for the good of the community".

The land, with access form Kallaroo Rd, is expected to come into use early next year along with the Bensville entry statement and road quietening on Kallaroo Rd.
