Foreshore plan discussion welcomed
Ettalong Ratepayers & Citizens Progress Association has welcomed Gosford Council's decision to convene a public meeting to obtain community input to the draft plan of management for the Ettalong Beach Foreshore Reserve.
A consultant contracted to Gosford Council has drafted a plan for the stretch of foreshore reserve from Ferry Rd to Kourung St, Ettalong Beach.
"It is now time for the wider community to say how to treat the reserve to best serve future public interest," said association spokesman Mr Ron Clifton.
"The draft plan proposes changes to the layout and use of the land which if implemented would impinge on the recreational value of the reserve and the integrity of the foreshore environment.
"This publicly-owned foreshore land is reserved for community recreational benefit.
"Everybody who appreciates, uses and enjoys the foreshore reserve should make it their business to be at the meeting to get an understanding of the re-jigging proposed in the draft plan of management.
"This will be your opportunity to voice ideas for the preservation and future recreational use of this popular public facility."
The meeting is scheduled for 10.30am on Saturday, October 19, at the Ettalong Senior Citizens Centre, Broken Bay Rd, Ettalong Beach.
