New hat policy at Woy Woy

 

Woy Woy Public School has implemented a new policy in an attempt to get students to wear hats.

The "no hat, no play" policy is designed "to encourage all students to wear hats whilst playing".

If students do not wear a hat during play times, they will be directed to sit and remain on designated seats until conclusion of play time.

They will be permitted to engage in "passive play activities and conversation".

Previously, the school had a "no hat, no play in the sun" policy, with students being directed to play in shaded areas.

In physical education lessons, any student without a hat will be provided a second-hand legionnaire's style hat to ensure they participate.

The hats will be sprayed with a disinfectant solution following use.
