Web site for holiday house

Emerald Cove "a little bit of Paradise" is a local holiday house located on the beachfront at Umina Beach.

The house, which can also be viewed online for those who want a glimpse before booking in for a stay, provides plenty of information to viewers and can be found at http://www.beachhut.com.au/

The home page and most of the other pages contain very clear graphics of the area or house.

Unfortunately the graphics tend to slow down the page downloads.

For many viewers who have slow connections, the wait may become too long.

The internal links give the viewer the layout of the house, and a list of attractions that could be visited while staying in the area.

Other internal links can take the visitor to a page about some local restaurants, the enquiry page and a virtual tour.

The virtual tour pans the area and looks very impressive.

Zooming in during the tour only produced blurry pixel images, yet while on another computer I was unable to see the tour at all.

Only one external link is provided, for the virtual viewer, but the site has been out of action for some time when I visited.

But plenty of information on Central Coast attractions and Peninsula restaurants are a bonus.

Bookings can be completed online with a calendar function that allows the viewer to preview available or booked out dates.

Once again, this function can only be completed if your browser is compatible.

The site provides no indication of how recent is the information.

The site rates seven out of a possible 10 and is worth a look, and perhaps even a booking for a long earned rest.

If your community organisation is on the Internet and would like your site reviewed, send the information including contact details to stephen@stephenmcnamara.com or mail to PO BOX 532 Woy Woy 2256 or fax 02 4342 2071
