Bensville boys reach semi-finals
Two young people from Bensville, Jayson Yeo and Anthony Webster, have been chosen as semi-finalists in a competition which could finance their business ideas.
Anthony was chosen for his ambition to start his own record company.
Jayson was chosen for his desire to operate his own fibre reinforced plastics manufacturing company.
Each was chosen as one of 400 semi-finalists from thousands of entries across Australia and New Zealand.
Jayson and Anthony have a chance to win one of eight awards of $20,000 or 12 awards of $2000.
As semi-finalists, they must send in detailed support materials in the hope that they will be chosen as one of 20 finalists.
If they are chosen as finalists, they will be sent to Sydney where they must each present their ideas to a panel of judges made up of past winners.
Winners of this year's competition will be announced on Monday, November 18.
The Nescafe Big Break competition is "aimed at young people with good ideas who need a cash injection to help get them started on the first big break of their working lives".
Organisers said the standard of entrants this year was extraordinary.
