Public speaking finals are held

 

Woy Woy South Public School conducted the finals of their public speaking competition for students in grades two to six on Monday, September 9.

Adjudication for the finals was performed by Mr Peter Doherty from Rotary and Brisbane Waters Secondary College principal Mr Pat Lewis.

The students spoke on topics including "Cars should be banned from the city", "Children should do homework", "Healthy canteen food" and "Dogs make better pets than cats".

From year two, Lachlan Stokie won for his speech on owls.

Year three student Rachel Carle won with her speech on "Why animals shouldn't be locked up".

From year four, John Besley's presentation on bullying was awarded first place.

In year five, Chloe Potvin's speech about Dick Smith won and, from year six, Elisabeth Cansdale's presentation theme "Just like me" finished in first place.

All finalists from each grade who spoke on the day received a certificate of accomplishment
