Wednesday, September 7 A Greenhaven Dr resident who woke from sleep to risk his life to rescue a man from a flaming car wreck will be formally recognised for his heroism.

Robert Langford, a Gosford Council truck driver, ran to find the driver, Phillip Ellis of Woy Woy, semi-conscious and his twisted vehicle filling with smoke, in January last year.

Friday, September 9 Hardys Bay residents are creating a stink over plans to locate a boat sewage pump station at the Araluen Dr wharf.

The wharf will need to be upgraded to install the pump facility which would remove sewage from vessels with in-built toilets.

Wednesday, September 14 Brisbane Water police have issued a fresh appeal for witnesses to a hit-and-run incident at 8.45am on August 22.

Senior Constable Dave O'Shea said an 11-year-old Ettalong Beach school boy was struck by a white car while crossing Springwood St near Uligandi St.

Friday, September 16 Organizers of the Terrigal Fair, which attracts more than 40,000 people annually, will hold the inaugural Ettalong Beach Food and Wine Fair on the waterfront next month.

Food and Wine Fair committee spokeswoman Meredith Goddard said the fair was set to be the largest community event Ettalong has ever seen.
