In relation to Rosemary Ruthven's letter (Peninsula News, August 7) alleging mistreatment by a man to his dog on July 21, I was more than surprised that she would refer to the man/owner as a "gentleman".
As a dog lover, I know what I would have called him, but I didn't want to insult his dog.
