Gosford Council has deferred a decision to pay $20,000 for a consultant to undertake a comprehensive review of energy use and proposed methods of reduction at the Peninsula Leisure Centre.
The consultant would provide preliminary cost estimates for implementing energy saving strategies.
Council had previously moved a motion, as a matter of urgency, to obtain a quote for the installation of solar cells at the PLC.
Council officers stated that, in order to understand the best energy reduction strategy for the PLC, it required expert advice.
