Business nominations open

The Peninsula Chamber of Commerce 1999 Business Awards commence this week with nomination forms delivered to all businesses on the Peninsula, Council Libraries and Woy Woy Council office.
Customers are asked to nominate businesses who show outstanding courtesy, customer service , public image, marketing and/or store presentation.
Nominations will close 5pm June 18 for a judging panel to consider the finalists for each category.
All nomination forms will then go into a barrel for the major prize draw on the night of the Gala Award Presentation.
One lucky winner will win a weekend for two staying at the luxurious Nikko Hotel Darling Harbour.
Accommodation is twin share luxury with spectacular harbour views and breakfast.
Also included is a sightseeing tour. Many thanks to Tony Arico’s Traveland of Deepwater Plaza Woy Woy for sponsoring this major prize for the Business Awards.
The category for Excellence in Service is judged by several ‘phantom shoppers’ who will be visiting businesses on the Peninsula over the next four weeks.
Businesses will be judged on courtesy, attitude, grooming, product knowledge and overall service.
Six finalists will be chosen to receive finalist plaques and the winner will be announced at the Gala Award Presentation.
In the Outstanding Business Promotion Award, judges will be looking for businesses who have shown innovation or initiative to promote their business over the past 12 months and not necessarily the biggest or best campaign.
The Encouragement Award will be chosen in recognition of their efforts to improve their business and to encourage them further.
Business of the Year comes in four categories based on the number of employees.
Three finalists will be chosen for each category.
The winner of the Business of the Year will be selected from the winners of the four categories.
The Business of the Year will win $1000 worth of advertising from the The Weekly Sun Newspaper and $500 gift voucher from Retravision Umina.
The Chamber of Commerce Business Award Gala Presentation night will be held on Friday July 2 at the Ettalong Beach Memorial Club.
The night promises to be a spectacular event with champagne cocktails on arrival and a three course dinner under a maze of fairly lights.
Jenifer Green and Wayne Cornell from G’Day Hollywood will be hosting the evening and will also be performing.
The ‘All Star’ Orchestra will be on stage along with comedian Sean Kramer.
Tickets for this spectacular event are just $45 per head and early bookings are essential as seats are limited.

The Chamber of Commerce Business Awards is a great way to lift the profile of businesses on the Peninsula, improve our business image and promote business development. It is a great opportunity to showcase our businesses on the Peninsula and to the Central Coast.
