Access at Umina school
Umina Public School
are proud to announce a new service "The Information Access Program" to our families.
The Information Access Program involves the school library being open to our families after school from 3 to 5pm Monday to Thursday.
Our students and their parents will be able to access all the resources of the library including the Internet.
We hope this will help our students locate information they need for homework and projects.
Over the next couple of weeks the P&C and parents of Umina Public School will be assisting the Rotary Club of NSW with the selling of tickets in their Community Chest Raffle.
This is a great cause with fabulous prizes to be won.
Umina Public School P&C will be running their annual Trivia night on Saturday, June 19, with a 7 7:30pm start.
Tickets are $5 per head or $40 per table of eight.
A fun night is guaranteed for all with total prize pool to the value of $5000.
If you are a business and wish to donate a prize or wish to book a table or tickets please phone Anne Austin, Community Liaison Officer of Umina Public School on 4342 8268.
Woy Woy High School welcomed our new Leading Teacher, Mrs Pam McAlister, at the beginning of Term 2.
Mrs McAlister was previously the Head Teacher Social Science at Kincumber High School.
She will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of Board of Studies guidelines and requirements for the School Certificate and the Higher School Certificate and for promoting learning in the school.
Mrs Helen Anderson, of Woy Woy High's Home Economics staff, will be retiring on Monday, May 24.
Mrs Anderson has been loyal supporter of Woy Woy High School for many years.
She has been the Year 12 Student Adviser on at least two occasions; organised our entries in the Lions Youth of the Year competition; led our staff in the fund raising for the our new school hall; and, organised school publicity for a number of years.
We wish her well in her retirement.
Woy Woy High School's inaugural Year 6 Open Night was a great success.
Parents and Year 6 students were able to spend a few hours looking at our resources and seeing many active displays of students and teachers working.
This evening will followed up by a series of activities involving us working with our feeder Primary Schools.
The first activity will be the Maths Challenge Day which will be held at Woy Woy High School on Friday, May 28.
