Council says no on consultant

I am a member of the residents' committee formed to pursue the concerns and address the perceived lack of consultation prior to the granting of the "deferred commencement" for the fast ferry service
The committee submitted to council by means of letters to each councillor a proposal to engage an independent consultancy group from Armidale NSW.
It may be of interest to the community that the Gosford Council in their wisdom have replied in the negative.
It appears that the council consider the proposal would be of no benefit to them.
This is a pity because the whole point of the proposal was to examine all aspects and issues in the public arena and ultimately the result would benefit the whole community.
It appears that the community may have to commission an independent study now that their elected representatives have refused to do so.
I have also a copy of an article that has come to my attention that appears to indicate the Central Coast will have a second ferry service by the start of the Olympics. Your paper may wish to investigate this article further, especially where they propose to berth their ship.
