Traffic concerns raised at ferry committee

Resident representatives at the Fast Ferry Sunset Committee have raised concerns about the traffic management plan presented to them in March.
The residents wanted 12 car parking spaces eliminated from the existing car park with the three bus bays and ‘kiss and ride’ remaining indented into the reserve between the toilet block and Bangalow Street.
The residents also requested the side streets in the area be four hour limited parking with no parking on the waterfront except for 16 spaces already in the existing car park.
Other requests included residents be exempt from any parking restrictions, restrictions to be applied within 500 metres of the ferry, the Esplanade to remain two-way and the introduction of traffic calming devices such as speed bumps.
The residents also wanted a possible relocation of the bus terminal to Beach Street.
