Woy Woy Bowling Club was runner-up in the Club of the Year award for community service.
"Not bad for a small club with a big heart," says publicity officer Mr Felix Seady.
"Clubs in general do a tremendous amount of community service and are rarely credited for it."
The annual bowls match of the "Kneelers" (Catholics) versus the "Grippers" (Masons" was held on Sunday, May 2.
The money raised was shared between St Judes Hostel for destitute men and the Masonic Homes.
On the third Sunday of the month, the Nightingales have a fund-raiser bowls morning for the Woy Woy Nursing Home.
The Major Singles is the premier competition in a bowling club.
The final at Woy Woy was played last week between Graham Kenney and Lionel Ackling.
Graham defeated Lionel 31-22 in a very good game.
New member day will be held on Sunday, June 13, with a 10am start for new members and a 2pm start for experienced bowlers.
