The Peninsula Precinct is a unique area of the
Gosford Local Government Area. It appears isolated from the rest of the City due to the
large waterway of Brisbane Water which separates the Peninsula from Gosford physically.
The Peninsula Precinct takes in the southern parts of the Gosford Local Government
Area. A majority of the Peninsula is made up of established housing although there has
been some redevelopment recently and this is expected to continue. The Peninsula has a
history of a large amount of holiday cottages and a retiree area.
Anecdotal evidence suggests that residents on the Peninsula feel that they have fewer
services compared to the rest of the Local Government Area, however levels of services
compared to newer suburbs is quite high.
